Department of Immigration & Emigration

The Department of Immigration & Emigration oversees and manages the immigration of new citizens and the emigration of existing citizens. Its secretary is recommended by the Council of State.

The Department of Immigration & Emigration adheres to the Typical Organization Framework in addition to the following components:

Branches

The Department of Immigration & Emigration has one category of branch:

General Branches

Emigration Branch

The Emigration Branch oversees the emigration of Pillowans to foreign states. Each such event is viewed as a failure, so the branch devotes much of its resources to understanding why individuals choose to emigrate.

Human Capital Branch

The Human Capital Branch develops programs for enticing professionals and other high skilled individuals to immigrate to the Pillow Fortress.

Immigration Branch

The Immigration Branch manages the general immigration of non-citizens into the Principality.

Permanent Resident Branch

The Permanent Resident Branch manages those individuals who, while living permanently within the state, do not wish to become citizens.

Refugee and Asylum Branch

The Refugee and Asylum Branch manages the intake of refugees and asylum seekers into the Principality, as well as setting general policies relating to the same.

Visitor and Tourist Branch

The Visitor and Tourist Branch grants temporary visas to non-citizens so that they may enter the Pillow Fortress.

Immigration Standards Committee

The Immigration Standards Committee sets standards that prospective immigrants must meet to be accepted. While the Principality has an extremely open immigration policy, it reserves its right to reject applications based on certain disqualifying factors, so long as those factors do not constitute discrimination based on any protected class.

The Pillow Fortress Expat Alliance provides news, information, and other services to Pillowans living outside the Principality's territory.

The Immigration Intake Facility Network consists of all those facilities which are equipped to process immigrants.

The Department of Immigration & Emigration has two offices:

Office of the Secretary of Immigration & Emigration

The Office of the Secretary of Immigration & Emigration consists of the Secretary of Immigration & Emigration and their support staff. It is the main organ through which the department is managed on the day-to-day level.

Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Immigration & Emigration

The Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Immigration & Emigration is responsible for all those organizational components of the department which fall under the TOF.

Registries

The Department of Immigration & Emigration maintains two registries:

Banned Persons Registry

The Banned Persons Registry is the official list of all those individuals who have been denied entry or immigration to the Pillow Fortress.

Citizen and Subject Registry

The Citizen and Subject Registry is the official list of all citizens and subjects of the Principality.

Passport Printing Service

The Passport Printing Service produces passports for citizens of the Pillow Fortress.
