The Defense Families Branch of the Department of Defense provides for the families of enlisted and commissioned members of the Pillow Fortress Armed Forces (PFAF), particularly those of the Platinum Band.

The Office of the Undersecretary of Defense Families is the organ through which the branch is run day-to-day.

The Defense Family Education Section provides for the education of the minor children of PFAF members.

The Defense Family Housing Section provides local housing for the families of PFAF members.

The Defense Commissary Service provides food for the families of PFAF members.

The Defense Family Health Service provides healthcare services for the families of PFAF members.
