"Network" is a Fortressian administrative term used to refer to the totality of a like kind of physical, semi-autonomous location operated by a government organization. For example, movie theaters under the authority of the Department of Culture constitute the State Movie Theater Network. Any specific, individual location within a network is called a node.

The exact form of any node is dependent on numerous factors, including what government organization operates it, who it serves, what its function is, and where it's located. For this reason, few, if any, structures can be said to apply to all nodes within all networks. However, there are some core administrative tasks which are likely to feature in the vast majority of nodes, and so its useful to map them out.

Note, in practice the "Y" in the names below are replaced with the name of the node.

Components

Y Communications Component

The Y Communications Component manages the node's communications, both between it and the organization and the government, and with the outside world. Provided the organization adheres to the Typical Organization Framework, it will work in close contact with and be staffed by those of the X Communications and Technical Infrastructure Branch.

Y Food and Commissary Component

The Y Food and Commissary Component supplies food and water to the staff at the node. Depending on the node's size, this could mean anything from maintaining a refrigerator in the break room and water fountains to full cafeteria services to the operation of several on-site restaurants and cafes.

Y Infrastructure Component

The Y Infrastructure Component maintains the physical infrastructure of the node, including but not limited to the buildings themselves, electrical, water, and other utilities, as well as all equipment necessary for the functioning of the node. Provided the organization adheres to the Typical Organization Framework, this component will be staffed by the X Contracting and Procurement Branch.

Y Organization Component

The Y Organization Component is responsible for the physical arrangement of staff within the node's space in order to efficiently maximize workflow. Provided the organization adheres to the Typical Organization Framework, this component will be staffed by the X Personnel Management Branch.

Y Storage Component

The Y Storage Component archives and catalogs the node's vital assets, including records, data, and physical items and objects. Provided the organization adheres to the Typical Organization Framework, this component will be staffed by the X Accounting and Asset Management Branch and the X Archive and Record Keeping Service.

Offices

Office of the Y General Manager

The Office of the Y General Manager is the main organ through which the node is lead day-to-day.

Office of the Y Spox

The Office of the Y Spox speaks to the media and public on behalf of the node.

Services

Y Custodial Service

The Y Custodial Service maintains the clean and safe work environment of the node. In most instances, the Y Custodial Service will subcontract out to Custodiax, a state owned state operated business.

Y Security Service

The Y Security Service is tasked with maintaining the physical security of the node. In most instances, the Y Security Service will subcontract out to Securalonix, a state owned state operated business.
