The Platinum Band has its own set of symbols which cultivate its esprit de corps.

Flags

Flags of the Platinum Band adhere to the general rules of Fortressian Vexillology (1:2 ratio except when the flag of an office or rank), but may include a platinum fringe depending on what they are flags of. Flags of things protected by the Platinum Band receive the fringe, and those things that do the protecting do not receive the fringe. For example, civilian flags of the Principality receive the fringe when used by the Platinum Band since it is the Platinum Band's duty to protect them. Rank flags receive the fringe since the Platinum Band has a duty to protect its personnel. The flags of the Platinum Band itself, its orders, and their units do not receive the fringe, since their duties are not to protect themselves as organizations, but to protect the Pillow Fortress, its Princess, citizens, and institutions.

Flag of the Pillow Fortress, Platinum Band Use

Owing to the Platinum Band's position as the chief defenders of the Principality, it is entitled to use a special variant of the State Flag. The design of the flag remains the same but with the addition of a platinum fringe, representing the Band and its role protecting the Pillow Fortress.

Flag of the Platinum Band

The Flag of the Platinum Band consists of a platinum stripe (#CCCCCC) diagonally upward across a black (#000000) field. The stripe is quite literally a platinum (arm)band, and its upward orientation represents success, power, and victory, while the field represents the unknown challenges which the Band must confront in order to defend the Principality.

Flags of the Orders of the Platinum Band

Each of the seven Orders of the Platinum Band has its own flag, and all share a single design style, thus symbolizing harmony and cooperation between the Orders. A platinum (#CCCCCC) stripe one third the height of the flag is in the middle of a field consisting of the Order's official color, while one or more letters serving as abbreviation for the name of the Order is super imposed over the stripe near the fly in the color of the field, connecting the top and bottom thirds of the flag.

Rank Flags

Achieving the rank of brigadier, general, or marshal entitles an officer to fly an associated rank flag of their order.

Retired Flags

These flags were once in use by the various orders but were retired when the Order of the Coast Guard was established as part of a larger revamp of the Principality's graphic design taking place around the same time.

Uniforms

Armband

All Platinum Band uniforms across all orders and ranks are required to feature a platinum armband, unless its inclusion would impede combat or professional effectiveness. The armband of the Platinum Band is in a 9:17 ratio and is worn on the left arm halfway between shoulder and elbow.
