The University Branch of the Department of Education oversees the Principality's institutions of higher learning such as universities, academies, and community colleges.

The State University Network consists of all such locations operated by the branch. State universities and other institutes of higher learning are granted an extreme amount of autonomy relative to other nodes in other government run networks.

The Office of the Undersecretary of University and Higher Education is the main organ through which the branch is run day-to-day.

The University Accreditation Service investigates non-state owned state operated institutions of higher learning and provides accreditation should they meet the standards of such set by the branch.
