The Organizational structure of the Libertine Party refers to the relationship between the Libertine Party as a whole and its various component parts. The highest level of the Party is the "State Party" (an unofficial designation), that segment of the Party which operates at a level analogous to the state level of the Principality's government, having jurisdiction over the whole of the Party and all its subordinate structures and organization. The State Party consists of different branches, the chiefs of which plus the Party Secretary and Deputy Party Secretary form the Politburo, the leadership organ of the party. Directly below the State Party are the local party chapters. Local party chapters are organized along the Party's own administrative divisions, and are subject to oversight by the State Party. Separate from the Party as a whole and with their own internal structures but subject to the State Party's oversight are the Party's subordinate independent agencies.

Administrative Divisions

The Party uses its own set of administrative divisions for the purpose of organization. The current administrative divisions are, from highest to lowest:

  • State

The state, generally, is a generic term for the Principality, used here by the Party to refer to the whole of Fortressian territory. Those organs of the Party which operate at a level and jurisdiction covering the entirety of the Pillow Fortress are said to constitute the "State Party". The various independent agencies of the Party also function at this level, at least partially, with most, but not all, having devolved organs at lower levels.

  • Chapteriat

A chapteriat is a geographic unit used in the establishment of a local party chapter, with a local party chapter having a jurisdiction equaling that of its associated chapteriat. Ideally, all chapteriats would have similar population sizes, with the exact number within a range determined to be the best for Party organization. Chapteriats and their local party chapters are closely linked, but do not necessarily need to share the same name, as in the case of the Most Everywhere Chapteriat which is served by the Pillowans Abroad Chapter.

  • Riding

A riding is a subdivision of a chapteriat used when smaller areas of responsibility are necessary. Typically ridings are used for organizing those independent agencies which form small, extremely localized cadres, for example the Young Libertines, Libertine Students Association, and the Libertine Sporting Club. Ridings may also be useful in the organization of intra-Party elections.
