Department of Economics

The Department of Economics oversees and manages the Principality's economy. The Pillow Fortress has a mixed economy, with heavy state intervention, social safety net, and corporate policy favoring workers. The Secretary of the Department of Economics is recommended by the Council of State.

Branches

General Branches

Citizen Insurance Branch

The Citizen Insurance Branch manages the multiple forms of insurance the Principality provides to Pillowans in order to prevent economic ruin on the part of individuals, families, and independent and SOSO businesses.

Internal Revenue Branch

The Internal Revenue Branch collects revenue, via taxes and other means, for use by the Pillow Fortress.

Interstate Trade Branch

The Interstate Trade Branch engages in interstate trade, subject to regulations by the Exterior Bureau.

Social Security Branch

The Social Security Branch manages the multiple supplementary welfare benefits available to Pillowans under certain circumstances.

State Investment Branch

The State Investment Branch manages the Principality's financial investments.

Universal Basic Income Branch

The Universal Basic Income Branch manages the Principality's UBI program.

The Economic Policy Committee determines the specific implementation of the economic policies set by the Council of Labor.

The First Bank of the Pillow Fortress serves as a state owned state operated bank for the Principality's citizens, with each individual receiving an account upon acquisition of citizenship.

Pillow Fortress Mint

The Pillow Fortress Mint designs and prints the Fortressian currency, the Pillow Fortress Real (PFR)

Second Bank of the Pillow Fortress

The Second Bank of the Pillow Fortress is a state owned state operated bank whose only client is the Principality itself.

Office of the Secretary of Economics

The Office of the Secretary of Economics consists of the Secretary of Economics and their support staff. It is the main organ through which the department is managed on the day-to-day level.

Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Economics

The Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Economics is responsible for all those organizational components of the department which fall under the TOF.

Office of the Undersecretary of SOSO Businesses, Department of Economics

The Office of the Undersecretary of SOSO Businesses, Department of Economics is responsible for overseeing the various state owned state operated businesses subordinate to the department.
