The Department of Housing & Urban Development oversees and manages the sheltering of the Principality's citizens, as well as the construction and distribution of housing. Its secretary is recommended by the Council of State.

Branches

Community Organizing Branch

The Community Organizing Branch works with local leaders and organizations to improve and maintain their communities.

Homelessness Prevention Branch

The Homelessness Prevention Branch is tasked with eliminating homelessness from the Principality. Ideally, the State Housing Scheme should provide shelter for all Pillowans, but as it's possible that some will, via whatever circumstance, find themselves homeless, it is important to provide additional services and means by which these instances can be resolved.

Housing Anti-Discrimination Branch

The Housing Anti-Discrimination Branch investigates and prosecutes instances of discrimination in housing.

Housing Safety Branch

The Housing Safety Branch sets the standards of safe habitat construction, not only limited to housing, but rather all buildings, and conducts inspections to ensure compliance.

Urban Planning Branch

The Urban Planning Branch manages the development of new cities and the expansion of existing cities.

The City Standards Committee sets the standards of Fortressian Urban Development.

Independent Agencies

Smart Urbanizing Center

The Smart Urbanizing Center studies urban planning and city development, and makes recommendations to the department for future town, city, and other settlement layouts and features.

The Public Housing Network consists of all houses, apartments, and other inhabited buildings built by the Principality.

Offices

Office of the Secretary of Housing & Urban Development

The Office of the Secretary of Housing & Urban Development consists of the Secretary of Housing & Urban Development and their support staff. It is the main organ through which the department is managed on the day-to-day level.

Office of the State Architect

The Office of the State Architect oversees the creation and maintenance of a Fortressian sort of architecture, often leading specific projects to design and build government buildings.

Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Housing & Urban Development

The Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Housing & Urban Development is responsible for all those organizational components of the department which fall under the TOF.

The Office of the Undersecretary of SOSO Businesses, Department of Housing & Urban Development is responsible for overseeing the various state owned state operated businesses subordinate to the department.

SOSO Businesses

Fortressian Home Inspection Company

Despite it's name, the Fortressian Home Inspection Company carries out inspections of all sorts of buildings within the Principality, either at the behest of the government or by private businesses and individuals.

Fortressian Light Construction Company

The Fortressian Light Construction Company constructs the Principality's various buildings, including houses, offices, transit stations, shopping centers, and even skyscrapers.
