The Department of Industry oversees and manages the Principality's state owned and state operated (SOSO) businesses, along with coordinating and providing services to independent businesses owned and operated by Pillowans. Its secretary is recommended by the Council of Labor.

Branches

Foreign Market Penetration Branch

The Foreign Market Penetration Branch manages the distribution of Fortressian goods and services within other, foreign states.

Goods and Services Integrity Branch

The Goods and Services Integrity Branch maintains the high quality of Fortressian goods and services by setting the standards all products must meet, as well as conducting random inspections to ensure compliance.

Independent Businesses Branch

The Independent Businesses Branch interfaces with independent businesses, i.e. those neither state owned nor state operated, regulating them as well as providing services.

SOSO Business Coordination Branch

The SOSO Business Coordination Branch manages the coordination of the Principality's many SOSO businesses.

SOSO Business Efficiency Branch

The SOSO Business Efficiency Branch studies and investigates the Principality's many SOSO businesses in order to increase efficiency and productivity.

College of Industrial Managers

The College of Industrial Managers consists of individuals who may be appointed by the department to serve within a particular independent business. Industrial managers serve an oversight role in independent businesses with stakeholders numbering more than one thousand, ensuring the business does not violate Fortressian law.

Independent Agency

Industrial Intelligence Organization

The Industrial Intelligence Organization protects the industrial security of the Principality by engaging in corporate counter-espionage. It is a member of the Pillow Fortress Intelligence Community.

Industrial Alliances

An industrial alliance is a kind of organization unique to the Department of Industry which serves to coordinate, advocate, regulate, and moderate their associated businesses. All Fortressian businesses, SOSO, independent, or other, must be members of that alliance which best aligns with that business's product, service, or purpose.

Office of the Secretary of Industry

The Office of the Secretary of Industry consists of the Secretary of Industry and their support staff. It is the main organ through which the department is managed on the day-to-day level.

Office of the Inspector General of Business

The Office of the Inspector General of Business carries out investigations into Fortressian businesses, SOSO, independent or other, and reports its findings to the Council of Labor.

Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Industry

The Office of the Undersecretary of Administration, Department of Industry is responsible for all those organizational components of the department which fall under the TOF.

Services

Industry Advertising and Marketing Service

The Industry Advertising and Marketing Service provides advertising and marketing services to SOSO businesses. It also manages product awareness campaigns in foreign states.

Industry Customer Survey Service

The Industry Customer Survey Service conducts surveys of the general public, both domestically and abroad, on a wide range of topics relating to industry and consumption, including what products they use, how satisfied they are with them, what new products might they want, etc.
