The Succession Bureau of the Office of the Princess maintains the official order of succession to the throne of the Principality of the Pillow Fortress. The Constitution defines the order of succession as absolute female primogeniture with the First Princess as point of origin, and it is the responsibility of the Succession Bureau to use this as a sorting algorithm to determine who is in immediate line from the reigning Princess, to perhaps as many as fifty to one hundred steps outward. Due to the natural occurrence of deaths and births in a reigning Princess's extended family, the order of succession is in constant flux, and thus maintaining it requires active attention.
