Provincial Government

Provinces have no devolved or federated powers of legislature, though they do have some degree of policy setting power to account for any features unique to their circumstances. The philosophy adopted by the Principality with regards to provincial and other local governments is that members of a given community should have a role as the "boots on the ground" in the governing of that community, and so provincial government is staffed by those who live in and have experience of their province, but with strong oversight from the Throne, particularly the Department of Territory.

Canton Governing Boards

Canton Governing Boards are the means by which non-self governing population centers are governed. There is one board for each canton within the province.

X Inter-Provincial Affairs Branch

The X Inter-Provincial Affairs Branch coordinates with other provincial governments on projects, issues, and factors which are the responsibility of the two or more provinces.

Throne Coordinating Branches

Throne Coordinating Branches enact at the provincial level those policies set at the state level.

X Agriculture Branch

The X Agriculture Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Agriculture. Together they ensure that the province's agricultural potential is realized, as well as manage the food related welfare programs in the province.

X Community Cohesion Branch

The X Community Cohesion Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Community Cohesion. Together they ensure that the civil rights of the provincial population are respected, and that inter and intra-communal strife is kept at a minimum.

X Culture Branch

The X Culture Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Culture. Together they work to spread, expand, develop, and share the culture of the Pillow Fortress, with the X Culture Branch specializing in the unique aspects of the province's culture.

X Economics & Industry Branch

The X Economics & Industry Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Economics and the Department of Industry. Together they ensure the economic stability and growth of the province.

X Education Branch

The X Education Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Education. Together they manage the province's schools to provide the best possible education for its residents.

X Health Branch

The X Health Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Health. Together they provide healthcare to the residents of the province.

X Housing & Urban Development Branch

The X Housing & Urban Development Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Housing & Urban Development. Together they develop the province's cities and towns.

X Infrastructure & Energy Branch

The X Province Infrastructure & Energy Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Infrastructure & Energy. Together they construct and maintain the various infrastructure of the province as well as provide electricity to all the province's residents.

X Interior Branch

The X Interior Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of the Interior. Together they protect the environment and wildlife of the province, as well as respond to natural and manmade disasters.

X Justice Branch

The X Justice Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Justice. Together they administer justice and arbitrate disputes within the province.

X Labor Coordination Branch

The X Labor Coordination Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Labor Coordination. Together they manage the different job programs within the province.

X Population Branch

The X Population Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Population. Together they manage the Principality's pro-natalist policies within the province.

X Public Services Branch

The X Public Services Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Public Services. Together they provide the province's residents with all the public services necessary to live a life of dignity.

X Science, Research, & Development Branch

The X Science, Research, & Development Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Science, Research, & Development. Together they coordinate and manage research facilities and projects that are located within the province.

X Sport & Recreation Branch

The X Sport & Recreation Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Sport & Recreation. Together they manage the various sports leagues that exist within the province, as well as provide leisure facilities for its residents.

X Transportation Branch

The X Transportation Branch coordinates with and is subordinate to the Department of Transportation. Together they plan, construct, maintain, and expand the province's transportation networks.

Committees

X Advisory Committee

The X Advisory Committee is elected by the province's residents to advise its government. The committee lacks the power to make laws or set policy, and so is not a legislature. It can petition the Council of Territory to dismiss the current administrator and replace them.

X Budget Committee

The X Budget Committee allocates the province's discretionary funds.

Independent Agencies

X Historical Society

The X Historical Society preserves, maintains, interprets, and popularizes the history of the province. It works in close collaboration with the Pillow Fortress Historical Society.

Office of the X Attorney General

The Office of the X Attorney General represents the province in legal disputes.

Office of the X Administrator

The Office of the X Administrator is the main organ through which the province is run day-to-day. An administrator is the head of a province, and they are appointed by the Department of Territory, usually from among the College of Territory Administrators.

Offices of the X Directors

The Offices of the X Directors consist of the support staff for those elected to represent the province on the Council of Territory.

Office of the X Inspector General

The Office of the X Inspector General investigates the provincial government for instances of corruption, criminal activity, and malfeasance.

Office of the X Spox

The Office of the X Spox speaks on behalf of the provincial government.

Projects

X Improvement Project

The X Improvement Project oversees volunteer projects to improve small and niche aspects of the province which would otherwise fall outside the responsibility of the government.

Services

X Statistics and Information Service

The X Statistics and Information Service obtains and distributes data on the government, population, territory, and any other aspect of the province.

X Government Archive Service

The X Government Archive Service maintains the provincial government's archival documents.
